I have been looking for a hat ever since I got here- with all of the walking and the sun I was getting a little concerned about my sun exposure and since no one knows me here and I don't really care if I look crazy walking in a hat, this is part of my new wardrobe!! The little shop where I got it was a true "hat shop" and the precious woman took her craft very seriously. She tried several on me and was assessing the shape of my face etc. She was a doll. There was a stack of berets Henry was playing with and as we were leaving she told him to choose one as a gift! So nice! So- it was black, grey, navy or orange.... Guess what he picked?
Yep.... You guessed it!! Clemson fans are welcome to borrow it anytime! :)
We have had a slow week here- often just hanging out in our PJ's and playing games. I'll take it. School schedule will be here soon enough.
We bought a car this week- a Citroen, which is the French equivalent of probably a Honda - it's nice to have that big purchase out of the way- Gant was having to try to do all of the car dealing during work in French of course and he is glad to have successfully completed that transaction!! I'm so proud of him with his French! He is doing so great!
Almost all of the cars here are hatchbacks like this- if you see a "BIG" car it's about the size of a small SUV in Greenville. Those "big cars" often can't even park in the parking spaces here or fit into a parking garage!!
It always comes back to the food somehow... But- this French brand is so yummy!! And now that I am seeing it here I think I have seen it in Greenville- maybe at the Fresh Market? The yogurt is delicious. This is raspberry jam- if you can get some, try it! It's amazing!
Here is a pic of my Euro sneakers- yes, they are gold!! They are cracking me up when I put them on! But those really cool animal print ones were a bit out of my price range at 312 €! They do put everything in the stores on sale twice a year- January and July so maybe I'll get them then! They are part of the "nouvelle" collection for fall- which you probably can guess means "new" so not on sale!
And last but not least- the X-ray machine I had to step in this morning- within a certain number of days of arriving you have to have a chest X-ray to make sure you aren't bringing any diseases into the country and Gant has to have one to be "cleared and able to work". Of all the things to check that seems funny to me to the only exam, but... Whatever!!
We are really settling into a very simple rhythm here and just enjoying so much time together but of course we love and miss you all!! Xo
