Spain- Part One

34

Getting ready to head out to Spain- going into town for some last minute errands! Henry's eye teeth are officially at half mast so make a great smile!

Below is Henry helping me with errands which here are done all via foot!

We had heard that the first Saturday in August is the busiest travel day of the year here. Having survived many Thanksgiving Eve travels through Atlanta over the years we thought it wouldn't be so bad....

There weren't even enough parking places at the rest stops for people to stop to have lunch so they were just having picnics on the side of the highway!!

Such a beautiful drive- sunflowers are everywhere here- they feed them to the cows instead of corn

The Mediterranean Sea in the distance

Here is the view from our porch at our house in Spain. We are on the Mediterranean coast in an area called the Costa Brava which is a stretch of about 5 or 6 beach towns. It's so beautiful- the beaches are very rocky with clear water-It is REALLY crowded here. The first night we went to the grocery store and it felt like Christmas Eve in there it was so jammed. I'll admit some of the food turned my stomach a bit!
This ham hock is as about as tall as Henry!
Yuck.

But I was so excited to see this imported snack from none other than Trader Joe's!

It is really packed as you can see! Women of ALL shapes, sizes, and ages in Europe wear bikinis and seem completely comfortable in their skin while playing with their families and just hanging out- It is very refreshing! Also, true to the previous posts... Guess what I didn't see ONE of on the beach or in any of the restaurants??  A phone!!!!

My favorite beach buddy!

That is Henry jumping off the board!! He is up for anything as usual- It looks more like a branch to me than a diving board!
