The French Adventure: Visitors Part 1

We passed a Vespa store on the way back from the restaurant- Bob LOVES Vespas! We wanted him to take one for a spin!

And then to keep them up and moving we decided to go to Clermont's beautiful cathedral and walk around the area to stretch their legs!

When we got inside Henry discovered a place where you could walk to the top! So with barely any sleep, they walked 259 spiral steps to the top! We were very impressed! It cost 2€ to climb to the top and along the way Henry said, "they should have paid US to climb this! " That gave us all a giggle to keep climbing! It was well worth the work- we could see far and wide!

After a good night's sleep and watching some Alabama football on our Slingbox we went to the Puy-de-Dome. It is a mountain where you can see the volcanoes in the area as well as the landscape all around us. We took a little train to the top and were greeted by an amazing view.

Grandma and Grandpa outside Henry's school. They did a lot of bus riding and got to be very savvy with the transportation system! They even took the train by themselves two days to go explore two nearby towns, Riom and Vichy! They are so adventurous! We had a great week just doing our regular school/work week routine! Cooking at home, soccer practice, grocery runs and a lot of bus trips!

Every Thursday morning, a donation center opens it's doors to people wanting to shop- Vicki and I found all kinds of goodies that people had DONATED!! I guess one man's trash really is another's treasure! It was fun to have her along for the experience!
