Visitors Part 2

And we were off... To Provence! We stayed in a house in St Remy ( which we were told was the town where VanGogh painted Starry Night- we can see how he would be inspired- it was beautiful! )
Sorry in advance for the long post, but it is just so pretty I had trouble editing!

Our first day in Provence we went to a nearby town called Isle-sur-la-Sorgue which hosts an Antique Market once a week. Vicki and I were thrilled to have the opportunity to go!

Look what we spotted at one of the booths- a 1986 SC License Plate!

The shoppers with their treasures!

As if the morning wasn't already enough fun, we went to a neighboring town for lunch with this view! Fontaine-de-Vaucluse was so beautiful!

They had chestnuts roasting so we had to try them!

I was trying to ask him how to eat them! He didn't understand so we just watched some people around us instead!

The next day we stayed around St Remy at our cute house and Henry loved the pool.

We rode bikes into town and found a French renowned Chocolate shop that served Lavendar Hot Chocolate! It was so unique- none of us was aware you could eat Lavendar! We loved it!

Here we are hanging out at the chocolate shop, Joel Durand.

Time for another day trip... To Cassis, on the Mediterranean.

Henry and Vicki playing a mean game of marbles!

We came home to a chef Gant had arranged to cook for us! What a treat! Rose and Jean- Pierre were so cute and made us an amazing meal.

The boys on a bike ride
  1. These are the plane trees that line the streets. There are rows upon rows of them. A local told us they did that for the horses to have plenty of shade when they were pulling carriages!

Here we are in Aix- en- Provence. Bob discovered a local government building that we strolled into - so amazing.

They hold their city council meetings in here!! Can you imagine?

Henry and Grandma switched sunglasses! She looks pretty cute in those blue ones, don't you think?

Then we went to Cathedral d' Aix.  When we walked in a woman was actually playing the organ!

For our last day trip we went to another town, Eygalieres. It was absolutely breathtaking.

    Walking around Eygalieres

    I think Henry was relaxed!

    Vicki too!!

And home to the have Rose in our kitchen again - Gant just spoiled us rotten! He was so thoughtful to plan such a great trip!

Our last day- guess what we did??? A fish bath!! It was so creepy at first but a once in a lifetime experience!!! The fish swim around your feet and it is supposed to be a relaxing experience- we were laughing too hard to be relaxed but boy was it funny!

Henry is feeling the fish between his toes!

And a restaurant we loved- and went to twice! Da Pappa Italian

A volcano pizza for the table for our last night!!

What an amazing week!! We loved our visitors and our surroundings!! We are blessed beyond measure!
