But ... So strange! Because...As you can see Henry is wearing his backpack! As in we are headed to school in the snow! Nothing stops! Buses run, everyone is working and running their errands- hmmmm... What is this foreign planet? Do they not know that snow means hot chocolate and marshmallows, sledding and snowball fights? Chili and movies? It is quite an adjustment to be expected to function as normal with snow on the ground!!! Ha!
Children even go on field trips in 20 degree weather!!
Clermont - Ferrand hosts a world wide Short Film Festival and Competition each year in February. Here is the poster for this year's event- it is called the Festival du Court Metrage.
It is a very big event here! There are film makers from all over the world competing and there are about 20 showings per day for one week. I was able to go to a selection of 6 films with my French class. I believe we were seeing the finalists: Poland, Egypt, Japan, Argentina, Switzerland, and the US. They were about 20 minutes each. I realized about 2 minutes into the first one that I was NOT in the US with our censored movies- whoa! Thankfully, they were all different and not all of the same content! Ha! I loved the US one, called " Sweet Corn" mainly because I could understand every word!!!
Here is the Maison de la Culture where the festival is hosted.
