Paris Flea Market

34
I have always wanted to go to the Paris Flea market, but it always seems hard to fit it in with all of the sights to see in Paris. My friend, Allie, and I decided to just make an overnight trip dedicated exclusively to antique seeking!

It was such an adventure- we started out by renting a big truck in case we found furniture we couldn't live without while we were there!

I still can't really believe I drove that thing through Paris, but Allie was such an awesome navigator, it went off without a hitch!

I wish I could show more pictures, but most booths don't allow photos.

It was miles of stuff - I really couldn't have comprehended how big it is until I saw it for myself. There was everything from old keys, vintage jewelry, light fixtures, pottery, paintings, furniture, mirrors, etc.

It was really fun to see all of the odds and ends and also to meet some of the characters who man these booths. I was surprised at the amount of VERY fancy, gilded furniture (not my thing) and the prices of furniture in general- VERY high. The smaller items were priced all over the place but, there definitely some reasonable booths. I would certainly recommend an afternoon there as a feast for the eyes if nothing else!
